OBITUARY of Ruben Chapa Jr.

 Ruben Chapa Jr. was born on October 6, 1959 whom passed away on August 14, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 66. He was the son of Ruben Chapa Sr. and Margaret Rodriguez Chapa. He attended and graduated from Oliver Wendell Holmes High School in 1978.He served our country in the United States Navy for six years from 1979-1985. During this time in active service, he was awarded a Sea Service Ribbon and Meritorious Unit Commendation while serving on the USS Saratoga (CV60). He was discharged honorably from the United States Navy in 1985.His hobbies were golfing and playing his guitar. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys football games and the Spurs basketball games. He occasionally enjoyed playing bingo, camping, and sitting outside on a cool breezy day.Those whom he met and assisted him, when he really needed someone; will remember his smiles, laughs, stories, strength, and kind charm.He was a fighter, not a quitter and handled most difficult times himself without assistance. He was very independent, caring, and helpful to others when able. His memory will continue on in the hearts and minds of his surviving siblings: Margarita Chapa Castillo, Stella Chapa Tercero, Maria Isabel (Chapa) Lainson, and Felipe Chapa.
