Rose Marie Montez was called home as Heaven gained another Angel on February 19, 2024, at 4:07 p.m. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family at her side. She was born to parents Juan and Angelita Mora on October 25, 1946, along with her twin brother Anthony Mora in San Antonio, Texas.

Rose Marie was affectionately known as "Rosie" by her family and friends. Rosie was a cosmetologist for over 30 years and the proud owner of Little Rose Beauty Salon where she made numerous memories, friends, loyal clients and shared many stories. Rosie enjoyed getting her hair, nails and lashes done, she enjoyed all types of music, dancing, sewing, BINGO, children, grandchildren, family, and fur babies. She left the workforce when she became a grandmother in 1993.

Rosie was a warrior. Anyone who knew her would say that she was one tough little lady. She bravely fought and survived breast cancer twice.

Rosie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John H. Montez; her children, Roxanne Montez, John Montez, and Felicia (Michael) Vidal; grandchildren, Samantha Lynn, Megan Rae, Jacob Ray, Mikaila Crystine, Isabella Rose, Michael Christopher and brothers Johnny and Tony Mora.

She was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Angelita Mora and her beloved sister, Mary Esther Saenz.

Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at: Ortiz Mortuary, 3114 Culebra Rd., San Antonio, Texas, 78228

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Rosary: 6:30 p.m.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m.
