Juan Antonio Anguiano, a beloved father, mentor, and dedicated servant to his community, passed away on January 4, 2024, at the age of 64 in San Antonio, Texas.

Born in San Antonio on June 15, 1959, Juan's life was marked by a profound commitment to service and a passion for both law enforcement and martial arts. His journey in service began with his involvement in the ROTC at Fox Tech High School, igniting his fervor for law enforcement.

Upon graduating, Juan answered the call to serve his country and joined the Army, where he was deployed to Korea. It was during his time in the military that he discovered his deep passion for martial arts, a passion that would remain a constant in his life.

After completing four years in the Army, Juan continued his service in the National Guard Reserves while embarking on a distinguished career with the Bexar County Sheriff's Department. With dedication and unwavering commitment, he served the department for an impressive 33 years, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community he served.

Outside of his esteemed career, Juan was a devoted mentor and educator in martial arts. His dedication to the craft led him to attain the rank of an 8th-degree black belt. Throughout his life, he shared his knowledge and passion for martial arts with numerous students, positively shaping their lives.

Even after retiring, Juan remained committed to guiding and uplifting young minds at the Boys and Girls Club, demonstrating his unyielding dedication to fostering a better community through mentorship.

Juan Antonio Anguiano is survived by numerous cherished loved ones, including his sister, Annie Sustaita, and his children: Maricela Anguiano, Stephanie Anguiano, Mark Anguiano, Carlos Anguiano, and John Anguiano. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Emily Anguiano, Joshua and Nathan Sanchez, Jace Anguiano, and Alyssa Romero, as well as his great-grandchildren, Jordyn A. Sanchez and Gianna L. Sanchez.

Juan will be remembered for his selflessness, unwavering dedication, and the profound impact he made on the lives of those around him. His legacy of service, kindness, and mentorship will continue to inspire generations to come.
