Joshua Joseph Munoz

February 5, 1987 - May 26, 2024

Joshua Joseph Munoz, a native San Antonian went to find his place in Our Lord's Garden on May 26, 2024.

Born on February 5, 1987, he was the only child of Velia Rose San Miguel and Joe G. Munoz.

He attended St. John Bosco Catholic School, where he began his love of performing and continued his passion for fine arts at Thomas Jefferson Magnet Program. After graduating he attended The University of Incarnate Word and worked for The City of San Antonio Code Compliance. Josh went on to hone his culinary skills by starting a career with Bill Millers BBQ and became an assistant manager, going on to work for San Antonio I.S.D. He later went on to work with several businesses such as: The Broadway 5050, Commonwealth Coffee Restaurant and Bakery, Blanco BBQ, and Mi Gente Comida and Cantina. While also working part time at The Ticket, and Dads Karaoke and Bar.

Some of his accomplishments included being a father, son, grandson, and friend.

Joshua was preceded in death by his grandmother's, Marta San Miguel, and Genoveva Soriano, great-grand parents Victoriano and Rosalia (Noriega) Martinez, and Velia and Norman Ritter.

Joshua is survived by his son, Logan James Munoz (Logan's mother: Victoria De La Rosa). Mother: Velia Rosa San Miguel, Father: Joe G. Munoz, Grandfather: Arturo San Miguel, Aunts and Uncles: Arturo and Olga San Miguel; Anthony San Miguel, Simona Cruz San Miguel, Genoveva Valdez (Benny), Richard Soriano (Linda), Mario Martinez (Laura), Lydia Soriano; Great Aunt and Uncles: Nellie Salaiz (Alex), Robert Martinez (Gloria), Nancy Martinez - Garcia (Ruben) along with several cousins and friends.

Joshua was known for being a kind soul and gentle giant. His love of comics, anime, and sarcasm made him unique and whimsical. He was a sensitive man at heart and deeply cared for his family and his friends touching the soul of anyone who met him. He will be greatly missed.

Viewing and visitations will be Monday, June 10, 2024, at Ortiz Funeral Home, 3114 Culebra Road, across from baseball fields at Holy Rosary Church/ St Mary University from 4 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 350 Sutton Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78228 at 10:00 a.m.

After Mass, family and friends are invited to share their memories of Josh at St Paul's Community Center, 1201 Donaldson Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78228, corner of St Cloud and Donaldson Ave.
