Fidencio N. Rodriguez

Fidencio N. Rodriguez passed peacefully away on December 18, 2023 at the age of 90. He was born on January 30, 1933 on a plantation in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico to Martin and Maria Nieves Rodriguez. Living on the plantation is where Fidencio gained his love of animals.

At the age of 13, Fidencio left Puerto Rico to move to Chicago for an adventure. Once in Chicago, he worked in an auto shop and learned to prep autos for sale. While in Chicago, he met his beloved wife Lydia and her two children, Norbert Cerna and Esther Cerna. Together they built a family and had two children of their own, Armando and Carmen. They moved to San Antonio where Fidencio became an auto salesman. There, he learned the skills needed to open his own dealership, FnR Motors. Later in life, he became an auto wholesaler. In his free time, Fidencio enjoyed spending weekends on his ranch riding horses and tending to his chicken and pigs. Fidencio also enjoyed hosting gatherings at his home for family and friends where they would listen to music and enjoy delicious food.

Fidencio is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Maria Rodriguez; his wife, Lydia D. Rodriguez; his brothers, Jose and Domingo Rodriguez; sister, Luz Nieves Rodriguez; Children, Norbert Cerna, Armando Louis Rodriguez and Maria Del Carmen Rodriguez and a grandson, Israel Anthony Adame.

Fidencio is survived by his brother, Ruben Rodriguez of Puerto Rico; daughter, Esther (Israel) Cerna Adame of San Antonio; grandchildren, Norbert (Cheryl) Cerna of San Antonio, Sandra Adame of San Antonio, Genieve (Edward) Rodriguez of New Braunfels and Arthur (Kimberly) Adame of North Carolina; friend, Mary Helen Mesquiti of San Antonio and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm at Ortiz Mortuary, 3114 Culebra Road, San Antonio, Texas 78228, with a prayer service at 6pm. Fidencio's ashes will be scattered at his favorite place at a later date.
