Diana Candelaria S. Rodriguez made her journey to Heaven on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the age of 87 surrounded by her loving family. Diana was born February 12, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Antonio Sanchez and Maria Silva. She is also preceded in death by her beloved children, Michael Espinoza, Manuela Manriquez, Daniel Rodriguez, and Rosalinda Moncada. Diana is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Natividad E. Rodriguez, Sr. and "their" children Candelaria Mitchell (Eloy), Melissa Esquivel, Lupe Chavez (Jerry), Gilbert Espinoza (Elsie), Margarito Rodriguez (Virginia), Stella DeLeon, Linda Longoria, MaryLou Paredes (Juan), Baldomero Rodriguez, Natividad Rodriguez, Jr., Teresa Sanchez (Fred), Natividad Rodriguez, III (Alex), and Chris Rodriguez (Kerry). She is also survived by 2 brothers, 4 sisters, numerous nieces and nephews, 51 grandchildren, 108 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Diana's journey was marked by her commitment to her family. As a child she was the oldest daughter who cared for her siblings and enjoyed riding her bicycle. In 1967 she was a widow with five children and married Natividad who was a divorcee with eight children. Together they had 3 additional daughters and raised two grandsons as their own. When she was asked about her large family, she would lovingly explain as "His, Hers, and Our". She was a modern-day superhero who on her days off cared for her husband, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to cook homemade food for family. Her specialty were tortillas, menudo, and on cold mornings atole and on a cold night hot cocoa. Diana and Natividad would later build a business of several rental properties. She managed the in and outs of the business which included being an office manager and all the maintenance. She did not shy away from hard work. Many were amazed by her construction skills of carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing and roofing. Diana truly lived life to the fullest. She was a loving, caring person, devoted wife, and friend always thinking of others first. "To know her was to love her". While we mourn the passing of our beloved Mother, the Rodriguez Family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support. We know our lives will never be the same without her, but we will forever honor her memory and love.
