Albert Rivera Jr. was born on October 17, 1953 in Mathis, Texas to Janie G. Terrazas & Albert Rivera. Soon after they moved to San Antonio where he attended Mann Elementary, Longfellow and graduated from Jefferson High School.

He married Cynthia and had his 1st son Albert Patrick Rivera born in November 1975. He became a physical therapist assistance. That passion and joy of helping others that is what lead him to enlist in the Air Force and proudly serve his country till 1981 when he was Honorably Discharged and returned to San Antonio from North Dakota. Married Gracie Gutierrez in 1982 and they had Laura G. Rivera Renteria in 1984, and Robert A. Rivera in 1986.

Albert was in RN school but withdrew due to tragedy in 1992 when Lil Albert deceased. Albert worked for Dr. Gilberto Aguirre for 20 + years as a Ophthalmologist Assistance Private Operating Room Technician. They had a wonderful experience helping others by performing surgical procedures in Oaxaca, Mexico for a week. After work he stopped daily at Roy's Ice Station to see his grandma Gonzalez. Albert became the happiest grandpa in 2014 - 2020 Liam, Lovie, Linus, Lillie & Lacie. Albert got to travel to Hawaii and Laura always included her dad in all trips, concerts and family events. Andrew (son-in-law) always made sure Albert got home safe. He got to go to Garth Brooks, George Strait, Willie Nelson and for 10 years attended the Air Force Band of the West Christmas concerts. Albert made many efforts to see all of the kids school activities and sports events although his knees and legs were weak.

For the last 20 years Albert did live alone, always seeing his brothers and sister and mom and Ray every opportunity they had along with major holidays spent with them. He worried about his mom and loved her cooking, family barbecue is where he felt at peace and enjoyed great food and music, he had many aunts , uncles, cousins, friends who he would see and visit when he could.

He did like his quiet evenings to watch the news and drink his "Old Milwaukee" and Crown Royal. He dedicated Monday - Friday from 11 am - 2pm to watch Disney movies with the twins and helped Laura fold clothes.

Albert was a hard working man, loving father , good provider, kind hearted and overall a good man. Albert had his own relationship with God (Faith). Albert attended 12 pm mass at Holy Rosary Church. Steve states that Albert was a "No - Nonsense" type of guy.

Grandchildren: Liam Renteria, Lovie Renteria, Linus Renteria, & Twins Lacie Renteria & Lillie Renteria.

Step Siblings: Rosemary, Helen, Richard Rivera & Sally R. Vasquez . Reyes Terrazas , Robert Soto, Virginia Terrazas White, Roy Terrazas Jr. (Step Father) Step Mother : Mary Rivera.

Preceded in death: (Lil) Albert Patrick Rivera, (1st Wife) Cynthia San Miguel & (Grandparents): Ernest & Mary Gonzalez & Patricio & Concepcion Rivera.

On Tuesday , January 30, 2024 a visitation will be held to the public from 1pm - 8pm. at the Ortiz Mortuary with a Chapel Service at 6 pm. On Wednesday, January 31, 2024 everyone will gather at the Ortiz Mortuary to say their last goodbyes Albert Rivera from 8:30 am - 9:30 am, followed by Mass at Holy Rosary at 10am officiating Father John Thompson with a 11:30 am, arrival to San Fernando II.
